Information you provide

• Contact messages: your name, email address, inquiry type, and message, along with any information you choose to send us by email.
• Orders: checkout and fulfillment information such as your name, email address, billing and shipping details, purchased items, and order status. If you add a gift note, we receive the recipient name, sender name, and message you provide.
• Reviews: the name, city and state, star rating, review text, and optional photos you submit. Approved reviews and photos may be published with your submitted name and location. Please avoid including private information in content intended for publication.

How we use information

We use information to respond to questions, process and fulfill orders, send order and tracking updates, prepare gift notes, address damaged or incorrect orders, review and publish customer feedback, and maintain and improve the website. We also use technical information to prevent spam and abuse.

Checkout and payment

Checkout is handled by Shopify and its payment providers when online checkout is available. Payment details are entered through their checkout services; our website forms do not collect full payment card numbers. We receive order and payment-status information needed to manage your purchase.

Service providers

We use providers to operate the store, including Shopify for checkout and orders, shipping carriers for delivery, Resend for sending contact and review submissions to our support inbox, and Vercel for hosting and website measurement. Information needed for these services may be processed by those providers and our email provider. Their own privacy policies also apply to their services.

Website analytics and cookies

Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights help us understand site visits and loading performance, using information such as pages visited, referring sites, browser and device information, and performance measurements. Vercel Web Analytics does not use cookies to identify visitors.

When configured, Google Analytics measures page visits and interactions such as starting checkout or encountering a checkout error. Google Analytics may use cookies and collect browser, device, and usage information. Shopify and payment services may use cookies required for checkout and security.

You can manage cookies through your browser settings and use the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Blocking cookies may affect checkout or other services. Our site does not currently change its analytics behavior in response to a browser’s Do Not Track signal.

Our contact and review forms temporarily use an IP address to limit repeated submissions and reduce spam. Hosting and service providers may also process request information for operation and security.

Keeping and protecting information

We keep information as needed to fulfill orders, provide support, maintain business records, and meet legal obligations. The appropriate retention period depends on the information and its purpose. Access is limited to the people and service providers who need it for these activities; no internet transmission or storage system is completely secure.

Your choices and California privacy questions

You can email therootedkitchenllc@gmail.com to ask about your information, request a correction or deletion, or ask us to remove a published review or photo. We may need to verify your identity, and some order or business records may need to be retained.

Depending on applicable law, California residents may have rights to know about, access, correct, or delete personal information, and to opt out of its sale or sharing where applicable. Contact us to make a request or ask how these rights apply. We will not discriminate against you for exercising applicable privacy rights.
